Amos Gilkey

Founder

Amos Gilkey is the founder of CleanWave Group.  Amos formed CleanWave Group to be a global catalyst for unique, visionary,  and entrepreneurial companies and projects providing positive solutions for society and the environment.   He has a keen interest in innovative solutions with transformative impacts.   Amos is also a music industry recording artist in both the US and Europe.  His industry interest and experience has also helped position CleanWave Group as a unique platform able to also focus on providing creative leadership solutions bringing the entertainment industry together with the advanced energy, cleantech, green, and cause-focused sectors. 

Amos is a moderator for cleantech and advanced energy focused panel discussions, a judge and mentor of ventures for US based foundations, and the founder and co-chair of the Central Virginia Chapter of the Clean Economy Network (CEN).  Amos is on the Advisory Council to the Cradle to Cradle© Products Innovation Institute in California.  Gilkey has also cultivated extensive industry knowledge and contacts in the US legal industry in diverse practice areas ranging from entertainment to IP.  He is a member of the University of Chicago Entrepreneurial Advisory Group in Washington, DC, an alumni member of the western literary student association UNICA in Amsterdam, and a Steering Committee member for the DC chapter of the Netherland-America Foundation (NAF).   Amos is fluent in Dutch and has close connections with both the private and public sector in The Netherlands.  CleanWave has a unique model dedicated to incorporating diverse professional industry expertise and networks for the benefit of projects and solutions.  As a result, CleanWave Group is revolutionizing the standard reach and perspective of a business catalyst and strategic advisory firm.  

 

 

Mark Rylander

Mark Rylander brings to CleanWave Group a passion for innovative project design and extensive contacts at both ventures and established corporations.  Mark is a design leader and change agent whose innovative work signals a positive, lasting, relationship between human purposes and the natural world.  Mr. Rylander is an experienced architect and expert on sustainability.  As a Director with William McDonough + Partners he was instrumental in the development and implementation of the Cradle to Cradle© philosophy.  He led aspirational projects such as Nike Europe’s Headquarters and The Woods Hole Research Center.  Mr. Rylander’s specific expertise includes project leadership, decision framework creation, design, building technology integration, daylighting, energy systems and healthy indoor environments.  He founded his own consulting firm and now brings to CleanWave Group an ongoing interest and engagement in cleantech design, urban infrastructure, and social entrepreneurship projects.   He serves on the faculty of the University of Virginia and is a past chair of the AIA Committee on the Environment.

 

 

Peter Griesar

Peter Griesar is an accomplished musician and coordinator for cause-related campaigns and causes around the world.  Mr. Griesar has spent the last seven years working on campaigns focused on issues of extreme poverty and the environment for high profile non-profits such as One.org, Women for Women International, African Children’s Choir, and Causecast.  Prior to his work with causes and cause marketing, Mr. Griesar was an accomplished recording artist, writer, and founding member of The Dave Matthews Band.  Peter brings a unique ability to incorporate an extensive network of both public and private sector contacts in entertainment and media, technology, and cause marketing.  His travels bring him to SXSW, Bonnaroo and other large music festivals around the USA.  Peter is now able to bring his creative insights, artistic experience, entrepreneurial and cause focused approach, experience in the entertainment industry, and ability to consider business opportunities and high profile marketing solutions to CleanWave Group clients and ventures around the globe.

 


Cathrijn Haveman

Cathrijn Haveman brings to CleanWave Group an entrepreneurial approach and strong interest in sustainable and green innovations.  Ms. Haveman has multinational corporate experience in the sustainability packaging sector through her work at H. J. Heinz Corporation and Sara Lee D. E. Master Blenders.  With H.J. Heinz, Ms. Haveman worked on global sustainability platforms to achieve Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) targets and was integral to feasibility studies on the implementation of PlantBottle™ throughout Europe. Further, as data manager Cathrijn oversaw all of the packaging materials for Heinz in Europe and was project manager of a barrier project generating a functionality upgrade with respect to line performance and consumer usage for over 225 million bottles on an annual basis. Her work at Heinz also involved testing concepts on delamination and implementing solutions for 30 different PET references within Heinz Europe lowering the average delamination rate significantly. At Sarah Lee D. E. Master Blenders she gave support to senior packaging developers focused on packaging testing and 3D modeling.

Cathrijn’s experience in the food and plastic industry also provides expertise on consumer behavior, product waste and recycling systems and technologies.  She is able to provide sector advisory services regarding marketing campaigns and marketing and packaging approaches to assist in the success and market placement for a product.  Ms. Haveman has a particular interest in innovations and market ready solutions in the hydrology, advanced energy, green engineering, food and beverage, software, and design sectors.  

 

TINA BILLETER

Tina Billeter brings to CleanWave Group a genuine interest in applying a scientific perspective and business development focus to innovative goods and services creating positive solutions for the environment.  Ms. Billeter has cultivated strong ties to the clean tech and innovative green sectors in her native Switzerland where she was Director of Environmental Consulting Service for SMEs for the city of Zurich.  As Director, Tina had a broad and comprehensive portfolio and directive to implement green initiatives.  Ms. Billeter also worked as Co-Leader of the EU Eurocities working group “Greening the Local Economy”.  Tina gained valuable media and public relations experience as Senior Project Manager at Locher, Schmill, Van Wezemael & Partner AG in Lucerne where she managed the Swiss foundation “Nature & Economy”.  She was also focused on sustainability reports as well as media and public relations relating to sustainability and climate change issues.  Ms. Billeter is based in Washington, DC and has a special focus on innovative companies interested in the Swiss and American markets.
Her science background and business development perspective is valuable for clients interested in utilizing expert advisory analysis for product development, design, market analysis, and impact.  Tina has a Master of Science ETH in Environmental Sciences from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, a Master of Arts ETH in Science Education, and a Certificate of Advanced Studies in Management and Business Administration in Public Sector from the Zurich University of Applied Sciences.

Steve Boyd is an entrepreneur, strategist and campaign leader who has developed and led enterprises, programs and campaigns focused on energy, efficiency, transportation, economic development, educational opportunity, and social impact for over 20 years.  Mr. Boyd was an Assistant Press Secretary in the Clinton Administration, served in several other federal agencies and political organizations, was a producer/reporter at the PBS Newshour, and one of the founders of Cleantech for Obama (CT4O).  He has worked with a wide range of technology companies, advocacy organizations, social enterprises, and triple bottom line businesses in recent years.  His current work is focused on smart infrastructure — efficiency in buildings and transportation. Among other roles in the business sector and entrepreneurial ecosystem, he was a founding board member of the Clean Economy Network and a co-founder and advisory board member of several other innovative organizations in Washington, DC.  Boyd is able to provide strategic advisory services across a wide range of sectors including clean tech, energy efficiency, transportation, media, education, and other technology arenas to government, business and nonprofit clients.  Steve consults with a number of entities on renewable energy and energy efficiency solutions in the built environment and is also co-founder of a Silicon Valley based venture developing innovative freight and transportation solutions.

 

 

 

 

Scott Gordon

Scott Gordon brings to CleanWave extensive experience in the financial sector.  Mr. Gordon has been in senior management positions at several leading financial institutions and brings his unique expertise to CleanWave.  Scott has been Managing Director at a boutique asset management firm based in New York and was previously Chief Risk Officer at Paramax Capital LLC, an asset management and advisory firm.  Active in the structured investment business for over 25 years, Mr. Gordon is formerly a Managing Director and Global Head of Structured Credit Products for Ambac Assurance Corp and a member of Ambac’s Senior Credit Committee.   Scott was previously a Managing Director at Financial Security Assurance in the Structured Finance Group and began his career at Morgan Guaranty Trust Company and Moody’s Investor Service.  Mr. Gordon holds a BA in Economics from the College of Wooster and an MBA from New York University.

Michiel Cohen is based in Amsterdam and brings to CleanWave extensive large scale project design and business consulting experience.  Michiel co-founded one of the leading architecture firms in Europe which was bestowed in 2008 with the highest architecture honor of the Royal Institute of Dutch Architects, the BNA Cube.  Michiel has a lifelong dedication to innovative sustainable design and assisting clients with business development and consulting.  In the early seventies, he worked in Australia on the design, development and marketing of system kitchens.  In 1973 he co-established the cepezed architectural office.  Between 1976 and 1978, he was also the director of the Swedish Timber public information service in the Netherlands.  Michiel is a recognized expert on glass and steel and often speaks at international conferences on the topic of lightweight, intelligent and sustainable construction, about which he also publishes on a regular basis.  Michiel is also involved in the development of a new internal climate system.  

 

 

Gary Lipsky

Gary Lipsky is a strategic advisor, project manager, business catalyst and operational and finance specialist.  Mr. Lipsky has a particular interest in assisting early stage disruptive companies with market expansion, and financial and corporate structure advisory services.  Before joining CleanWave, Gary was Vice President for strategy, consulting, and project management at EnergyOne.  He has also worked as Director of Operations and Business Development at Ecron and Consultant at Bearing Point focused on business strategy, operational efficiency, and financial management.  Gary has developed and managed domestic and international energy projects, detailed financial projections and reports, led government relations efforts to develop project support, and focused on obtaining carbon credits for voluntary emission reductions.  Mr. Lipsky has advised clean-tech industry clients and investors on energy policy, project feasibility, technology, and financial metrics.  Gary has experience in the steel and industrial products industry providing consulting expertise for a major Ukrainian steel producer focused on the South Asian and US markets.  Gary Lipsky holds a BS in finance from the University of Maryland and an MBA from The George Washington University.  Gary is fluent in English and Russian.
